The No. 8 McMinnville boys soccer team clinched the Pacific Conference title Tuesday with a 5-1 win over Century at Wortman Stadium.
The victory moves the Grizzlies' unbeaten streak to seven (4-0-3), including 4-0 in league play with a match to go Thursday at Sherwood, which tied with Newberg 2-2 to allow McMinnville to clinch Tuesday.
Newberg, Sherwood play to 2-2 draw
The Newberg and Sherwood boys soccer team played to a 2-2 draw Tuesday night.
The draw took Sherwood out of contention for the conference title as the Bowmen dropped to 2-1-1 in conference play and 4-7-2 overall with a match at home Thursday against Pacific Conference champion McMinnville (9-1-3 overall, 4-0 PC).
For Newberg, it moves the Tigers to 0-2-2 in conference play and 6-2-5 overall. Newberg closes out the regular season Thursday at Forest Grove.
#4 Dayton clinches regular season district title
The No. 4 Dayton boys soccer team clinched the Special District 2 title Monday with a 9-1 win over Jefferson on the road.
The victory is the Pirates' 10th in a row as they moved to 12-2 overall and 6-0 in district play. Dayton will play in the district championship Saturday - taking on the winner of No. 6 Blanchet Catholic and Yamhill-Carlton.

#6 McMinnville, Sherwood win Tuesday to set up title match Thursday in Mac
The sixth-ranked McMinnville girls soccer team and Sherwood both won Tuesday to set up a match for the Pacific Conference title Thursday at McMinnville.
The Grizzlies, who beat Century on Tuesday, are 4-0 in conference and can claim their first ever Pacific crown with a win or tie against Sherwood. The Bowmen, who blanked Newberg 3-0 at home Tuesday, will need a win to earn the conference title.

Sherwood sweeps Glencoe, claims share of PC regular-season crown
The Sherwood volleyball team earned a share of the Pacific Conference regular season title with a 3-0 sweep of Glencoe on Friday at home.
The victory ties the Bowmen (15-8 overall) with Forest Grove at 9-1 in conference play. However, because the teams split their head-to-head matches and swept the rest of the league, the tie will ultimately be broken by the fourth criteria—the OSAA computer rankings. Given the Vikings are ranked 14th as of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night and Sherwood is at No. 18, Forest Grove will likely be given the automatic spot.
With the seven conference champions earning an automatic spot into the 24-team Class 6A state tournament, the next nine teams in the rankings once they are frozen Wednesday will earn an automatic at-large berth - which it appears Sherwood will be outside of that.
The Bowmen will likely be one of the top seeds in the qualification round where the next 16 teams in the rankings after conference champions and the at-large berths will be seeded and play on or before Saturday with the higher ranked team hosting.
The winner of those eight matches will be the final eight teams in the 24-team tournament and the brackets will then be determined from there.
