SHERWOOD — The Sherwood girls soccer team's 6A state qualifying match against David Douglas appeared destined for extra time - and possibly penalty kicks - as neither team had any serious threats for much of the second half.
However, the Scots' Ariya Abdullah scored two goals in the final eight minutes to end the Bowmen's season 3-1 on Tuesday night.
Sherwood finishes the season 6-8-1.

VIDEO HIGHLIGHT DAYTON — To say the Dayton volleyball team celebrates with vigor is an understatement. And there was a lot "vigor" happening Saturday night in Dayton. The Pirates dominated Santiam Christian in game one, and other than a blip in game two, didn't really slow down as Dayton defeated the Eagles 3-1 (25-13, 19-25, 25-22, 25-18) to win the West Valley League title. Both teams will now await their seeding in the 18-team Class 3A state tournament - set to start this upcoming week.
